Abstract
The surge of interest in the area of visual perception has been marked by the publication of numerous studies, programs and remedies that can bewilder the beginning teacher. For the parent, the term “visual perception” is usually presented as “something your child needs to develop.” There is no doubt that parents and new teachers need a basic understanding of and orientation to visual perception. This discussion is intended for use as an initial orientation to visual perception that could be provided to parents and teachers by the specialist in the field and, in turn, would help promote healthy visual perception development in children. Keywords
