Multivariate Analysis and Agricultural Experiments

Abstract
Despite mathematical elegance, multivariate analysis of agricultural field trials involving simultaneous examination of several crop measurements is of limited value to the research worker. Recent uses of multivariate techniques are criticized. The purpose of an experiment, rather than statistical considerations of establishing significant differences, should normally determine what combinations of measurements are analysed.
