Abstract
Upon testing the effects of new, non‐mutagenic insect chemosterilants: benzylphenols and benzyl‐1,3‐benzodioxoles, we discovered that some of them show a strong and direct anti‐juvenile hormone effect. This was done by means of the Galleria bioassay, adapted in such a way that juvenile hormone antagonism can be detected.A series of analogues was tested in order to compare their sterilant activity and their anti‐juvenile hormone effect. Keywords
