Abstract
The pure rotational Raman spectra of HN3 and DN3 have been photographed in the spectral range −100 cm−1 to 470 cm−1. The very intense ΔK = O transitions, QRK(J) and QSK(J), and the weak asymmetry‐allowed ΔK = 1 and 2 transitions, RQK, SQK, RSK (J) and SSK(J), were observed and measured. The analyses of the spectra with ΔK ≠ 0 primarily yield information on the K‐dependent parameters of the molecules. For HN3 the following constants have been determined: A = 20.3815(25) cm−1; DK = 8.706(92) × 10−3; HK = 7.38(93) × 10−6 cm−1. For DN3 the results are A = 1.4916(24)cm−1; DK = 2.931(36) × 10−3 cm−1; HK = 2.00(32) × 10−6cm−1.Keywords
