Abstract
Dilute alloys of Eu in Sc show single-ion anomalies in their transport properties. The susceptibility is intermediate between and . The Mössbauer isomer shift is intermediate as well as strongly temperature dependent. This is the first case of microscopically confirmed configurational instability in any dilute rare-earth alloy.
