Abstract
A criterion of flame acceleration under confinement is obtained. The obtained criterion shows also whether the Landau-Darrieus instability of a flame front is enhanced or reduced in a closed chamber compared to a freely propagating flame. The condition of complete damping of the instability under confinement is discussed. Keywords
