Breakdown of ferromagnetic order in dilute alloys

Abstract
Using magnetoresistance measurements, it is shown that in PdCo and PtFe dilute alloys strict ferromagnetic order is broken down by weak random crystal fields. The disorder can be suppressed by applying moderate magnetic fields.Keywords
