Abstract
Three properties of paraquat suggest its use for grassland renewal: rapid absorption into foliage imparting rainfastness, effectiveness against grasses and almost instantaneous inactivation on all but the very lightest of mineral soils. Extensive investigations, both in small plots and on a farm scale under a variety of conditions, have largely confirmed the original promise. Inevitably, in a new development, ancillary techniques are required. In this case new sod seeding methods have been investigated. Keywords
