Abstract
We have studied the time-dependent structure factor for a one-dimensional kinetic Ising (KI) model quenched from an initial to a final temperature. Our results deviate from those predicted by a comparable time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau model in which one has simple exponential relaxation from the initial to the final value of the structure factor. We find in our KI model that there is a pulse in the structure factor which moves from large to small wave numbers as time evolves. We discuss the physical origin of this effect. Keywords
