Abstract
A 32 × 32 optical switch matrix with a banyan network architecture is demonstrated using a Ti:LiNbO3 waveguide. The switching voltage was 24 V and extinction ratio averaged –18 dB. The prototype device showed path dependent insertion loss deviation of 10 dB. The device can be used as a building block for many functional optical switch matrices. Keywords
