Abstract
Haugen, R. 1978. A Shortened Norwegian Adaptation of the Lie Scale for Children (LSC) and the Defensiveness Scale for Children (DSC). Scandinavian Journal of Educational Research 22, 83‐90. Ten items consisting of five DSC items and five LSC items were translated into Norwegian in order (a) to control the verbal anxiety responses from defensive tendencies, (b) to handle the problem of response set, and (c) to permit research concerning the nature of defensiveness itself. The translated L‐D scale, the TASC, and the AMS were administered to 594 6th grade pupils in Oslo in the autumn of 1972, 302 boys and 292 girls. Data are presented regarding internal consistency, reliability, norms, and initial validity. The results so far are promising. Keywords
