Seri Pottery

Abstract
Although it has long been known that the Seri Indians make pottery, the technique of manufacture has not been observed by outsiders until very recently. This paper describes the process of Seri pottery manufacture, the uses to which different vessel forms were put, and explores some aspects of the possible relationship between Seri pottery and the “eggshell” pottery of the coastal shell mounds.
