Abstract
In electron scattering from optically active molecules, polarisation components parallel to the scattering plane are produced by intramolecular multiple scattering in conjunction with spin-orbit interaction. Accordingly, the statement by Farago (1980) that in-plane components which may be produced by other mechanisms 'are clearly distinguishable from those due to spin-orbit interactions' cannot be sustained. Keywords
