Abstract
The activities of aspergillic acid, biformin, cassic acid, citrinin, gliotoxin, helvolic acid (fumigacin), "Hogeboom and Craig No. 1," kojic acid, mycophenolic acid, patulin (clavacin), penicillic acid, penicillin G, penicillin X, pleurotin, spinulosin, streptomycin, streptothricin and 5 synthetic compounds were measured against Bacillus my-coides, B. subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Mycobacterium phlei, M. smegmatis, Photobacterium fischeri, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa by serial dilution methods. The tentative identification of patulin illustrates the application of the antibacterial method to a culture filtrate. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
