Abstract
A polyimide-on-silicon electrostatic fingertip tactile display has been fabricated and tested. The display consists of 49 electrodes arranged in a square array. Preliminary experiments using 200-600 V pulse excitation resulted in a moderate strength perception. The fingertip sensation is described as "sticky" or "buzzing".Keywords
