The Specific Heat of Metals at Low Temperatures

Abstract
The free energy of an electron gas interacting with lattice vibrations is calculated. The linear term in the low-temperature specific heat contains a factor depending on the strength of the interaction. The result is compared with recent experiments and suggestions for new investigations are discussed.Keywords
