Photodetachment cross section of the negative hydrogen ion

Abstract
The photodetachment cross section of the ion has been obtained with the use of two variants of the polarized-orbital method. Calculation takes into account the matrix elements involving a distorted-target wave function that has been neglected by Bell and Kingston. The results have been compared with other theoretical results.
