Abstract
Mating is accompanied by the transfer of a single spermatophore from the c? to the 5. There-after the 5 refuses to mate unless the environmental factors of heat, light and density of the c? population are excessive. If the 5 receives > 1 spermatophore, impregnation may be prevented and the spermatophore discharged before any of the sperm enter the spermatheca. The presence of excess numbers of spermatophores prolongs the pre-oviposition period. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
