Abstract
Following examination of the type specimens, the descriptions of H. parva, H. schilleri, H. intricatus, H. longi, H. pauciglottis, and H. macyi are emended. H. lineola is considered a synonym of H. parva. Notes are given on the morphology and variability of H. serrula, H. parva, H. falculata, H. intricatus, H. schilleri, H. pauciglottis, and H. parvissima, and on distribution and frequency of 11 spp. of Hymenolepis in 50 shrews from Montana representing 3 spp., Sorex vagrans, S. cinereus, and S. palustris navigator. The author considers rostellar hook shape and general body morphology to be better characters for identification of Hvmenolepis spp. from shrews than rostellar hook length and number. Keywords
