Current Practices in the Assessment of Personality and Behavior by School Psychologists

Abstract
This brief report presented an empirical analysis of current practices of personality and behavior assessment in the schools. Projective techniques, especially figure drawings and sentence completion devices, were found to be the most often used instruments for personality assessment by school psychologists. Objective personality tests and published behavior rating scales were far less frequently used. Low correlations were revealed between the frequency of use of personality measures and behavior rating scales. Reasons for the current practices were discussed.
