Abstract
The portable source of Wood''s light is inexpensive and robust and ought to be found in every hospital laboratory. It is a valuable aid in the diagnosis of porphyria in the laboratory where it may save time, and it can also be used in the departments to study the fluorescence of teeth on living patients and of bones in the autopsy room. Its application in the study of cultures of micro-organisms and of living animals such as owls is mentioned.
