Abstract
A method is described for the recovery of estrogens from human pregnancy urine, which is believed to effect a maximal recovery with a minimum of labor. Urines may be stored under butanol prior to assay for periods of 2 years. Optimal conditions are given for the liberation of the estrogenic steroids from their conjugates, but this step remains the principal source of error in the assays. The colorimetric evaluation of the estrogen concentrates by Allen''s method is subject to uncertainties like all other modifications of the Kober assay which were described. Keywords
