Abstract
D. magnilarvatum is described from specimens recovered from a monkey in Pahang, Malaya and from monkeys examined in the United States which were probably collected in Malaya. The new species has an extremely long microfilaria averaging about 580 [mu]. Adult filarial worms and microfilariae of another species of Dirofilaria were recovered from the subcutaneous connective tissue but were not described. The importance of complete descriptions of the microfilariae and the establishment of standard techniques in the study of the filaria is emphasized. Keywords
