Abstract
Six equivalent bond orbitals of D3 symmetry are set up. Application of the orthogonality and normalization conditions leads to solutions when the composition is snp1+2md5−n−2m. The coefficients in the angular wave functions are expressed in terms of four parameters. The trigonal prism orbitals and the trigonal antiprism orbitals previously discussed can be obtained on assigning values to some of the parameters.Keywords
