Abstract
This paper deals with the attractors associated with some volume-nonpreserving generalized Fibonacci trace maps. It is shown that a central role in their behavior is played by certain pseudoinvariants. On the basis of the presence of these attractors, we illustrate the coexistence of regular and Cantor-like excitation spectra. Keywords
