Abstract
White mice were injd. intracerebrally with virulent Hemophilus pertussis in amts. varying from 1 to 700 LD50 doses. Aureo-mycin was given subcut. in amts. varying from 0.078 to 10 mg. per mouse in from 1 to 8 doses. The time between the infecting dose and the beginning of treatment varied from 6 to 96 hrs. A time interval of 48 hrs. and divided doses gave the best results. Aureomycin was an effective agent against pertussis infections in mice. 20 clinical cases were treated. The duration of paroxysmal coughing and vomiting was greatly reduced in comparison with controls. Keywords
