EXPERIMENTS IN3He-4He LIQUID MIXTURES NEAR THE TRICRITICAL POINT

Abstract
We present some recent measurements of the phase diagram of liquid 3He-4He mixtures near the tricritical point at elevated pressures. We explain our results by means of a classical model with quantum corrections. The location of the tricritical point is very sensitive to the size of these corrections and should therefore serve as a good indicator of polarization effects in the mixtures
