Abstract
A new solution to the spherically symmetric 3+1 Ashtekar constraint equations is described which has negative energy. The solution in terms of the Ashtekar variables is smooth and non-singular everywhere on the spatial slice. The densitized triad becomes degenerate in some region of the spatial slice. Keywords
