Abstract
One hundred and six isolates of C. neoformans were investigated by slide agglutination using absorbed rabbit anti-cryptococcal sera. In addition to the 3 previously reported serotypes, a 4th serotype was distinguished and designated type D. Of the 106 isolates from man end nature, 69.8% were type A, 10.4% were type B, 8.6% were type C, 4.7% were type D, 3.8% reacted with more than 1 serum and 4.7% were untypable. Of the 18 type B or C isolates, the origin of 3 was unknown. Of the remaining 15 isolates, 13 (86.6%) originated in California. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
