Abstract
Diffusion‐processed Nb3Sn has high current density at high magnetic fields. When combined with copper or copper and stainless steel in the form of a flat laminated tapelike conductor, it also has flexibility, low normal‐state resistance, and the ability to withstand high tensile stress. This paper considers various laminated conductors that have been constructed, with emphasis on mechanical as well as electrical performance characteristics. Design methods and subsequent test evaluation for performance characteristics are discussed. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
