The somatic metaphase chromosomes of 9 spp. of Felidae were analyzed from cells grown in tissue culture initiated with small skin biopsies. Seven spp. show a diploid chromosome number of 38, and the remaining two, 36. There are remarkable similarities among the karyotypes so far studied.
