Abstract
Insulin in doses of 1 unit/kg., with or without dextrose, and water diuresis were both ineffective in influencing the curve of iso-propyl alcohol in the blood of dogs given 1.0 g./kg intravenously. The predominant effect was a retardation of the rate of decline, and the use of these substances clinically in acute isopropyl alcoholic intoxication does not appear to be practical.
