Changes in Intracranial Pressure during Carotid Angiography

Abstract
Intracranial pressure was recorded in cats following the injection of sodium acetrizoate and sodium diatrizoate into the common carotid artery. A temporary elevation of the .intracranial pressure, probably due to cerebral vasodilation, followed the injection of sodium acetrizoate; corresponding amounts of sodium diatrizoate produced little or no change. The causes of the marked effects of sodium acetrizoate and their clinical significance are discussed.
