Abstract
Telzak et al. (Oct. 5 issue)1 report on a series of persons in New York city who had multidrug-resistant tuberculosis but were not infected with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The authors conclude that “contrary to previous reports, [such] patients can be expected to respond to appropriate chemotherapy.” This is good news, but a casual reading of the article may well be misleading. Keywords
