The Spin Magnetism of Binary Alloys

Abstract
Recent developments in the theoretical treatments of the magnetic properties of the substitutional binary alloys, AxB1−x , are reviewed. The model is the itinerant electron system with the short range Coulomb interactions treated in Hartree‐Fock approximation and the effects of the random array of atoms are taken in the coherent‐potential‐approximation (CPA). Various theoretical consequences are discussed and compared with experiments both in the paramagnetic and the ferromagnetic systems.
