Abstract
45 strains of the A. nidulans group were tested and found to produce penicillin or penicillin-like substances. It is not clear whether the antibiotic activity of these strains is due to one or more of the now known penicillins, to one or more unknown penicillins, or to a mixture of known and unknown penicillins. Their low level of activity would seem to eliminate them from commercial consideration. Keywords
