Abstract
The distribution of Ge-types was examined in 160 healthy individuals, 63 individuals with thalassemia trait, and 86 patients with thalassemia major from the Ferrara region, Ferrara, Italy. Significant differences in the distribution of Ge-types and of Ge alleles were not disclosed. The frequencies found were Ge1= 0. 741 and Gc2= 0. 259.Keywords
