Abstract
Thirty-seven of 41 normal rats showed stimulation of hematopoiesis in normally inactive terminal tail vertebrae when the ends of the tails were transposed into the abdominal cavity. Erythroid, myeloid and megakaryocytic elements were observed. In similarly treated hypophysectomized rats only 1 of 16 had any indication of a response; this provides another example of depressed hematopoietic potential following hypophysectomy. Keywords
