Abstract
A dynamic anatomic study of the coronary circulation in living dogs and humans is performed by using a fluoroscopic image intensifier and high speed cinematography. A specially devised catheter is introduced through the right brachial artery into the root of the aorta and into each coronary artery. Direct injection of small amounts of contrast medium into the coronary arteries produced no untoward reactions, even in the presence of severe obstructive lesions. The indications for this technique are based on the need for a precise anatomic diagnosis in patients with or suspected of having coronary disease; in selecting patients for coronary surgery; and for evaluation of the effects of surgery and drugs on the coronary circulation. Keywords
