Abstract
A triangular mesh cage within a cylindrical galvanized metal cage provides spaces for nesting materials in which mites may hide between blood meals. This nesting material cannot be fouled by excretory wastes from the host animal, and mites have free access to the host. A removable pan within the linner cage permits periodic disposal of host excrement without disturbance to the mite colony. A moat around the outer cage prevents escape of mites and helps to maintain high humidity within the cage. Keywords
