Chromosome Studies in the Genus Alstroemeria. I. Chromosome Numbers in 10 Cultivars

Abstract
Chromosomes of nine new cultivars and two plants designated as ligtu hybrids of Alstroemeria were studied with the following results: Two cultivars had a diploid number of 2n = 2x = 16; six cultivars showed triploidy with 2n = 3x = 24; and one was a hypertetraploid with 2n = 4x + 1 = 33. Two plants designated as A. ligtu hybrid were diploids with 2n = 16.
