Abstract
In most cases of congestive heart failure in which the patients are men, the patients' ability to return to work is the most important factor in permitting them to recover their self-esteem. The patient's functional capacity, as determined by means of an exercise test, is most important in determining the amount of work that he may do safely. Obviously, an appraisal of the patient's job must be made and matched against his functional capacity. Keywords
