Abstract
A zirconia‐based electrochemical device attached with an oxide electrode was developed for the detection of in air at elevated temperature. The sensing mechanism was confirmed to involve a mixed potential at the oxide sensing electrode. Among the oxides tested, ZnO was the best suited for the sensing electrode, giving a sharp selective response to 50 ∼ 500 ppm in air at 450 to 600°C.Keywords
