Abstract
A statistical method for atomic nuclei is developed, in which the effective potential is the density-dependent non-local reaction matrix in the nuclear matter. This method is applied to the calculation of the surface thickness, t, and the surface energy, Es, of heavy nuclei, and the following results are obtained: t=(2.8 ∼3.0)×10-13 cm Es=(23 ∼28)A2/3 Mev.Keywords
