OER reduction with high-energy nuetrons

Abstract
We recently reported that neutrons produced by 80 MeV deuterons bombarding a thick beryllium target have an OER = 1·3 ± 0·2 measured with Vicia seedlings (Harrison et al., 1975). This study has been extended to include additional measurements with other high-energy neutron sources (Table I). The mean neutron energies were obtained from time-of-flight energy spectra; these spectra and other physical and dosimetric data will appear elsewhere (Harrison et al., 1976).
