The Effect of the Tubing Material in the Gas Chromatography of Polyols and Vanillins

Abstract
Stainless steel and aluminum column tubing can adsorb polyols and vanillins extensively during gas chromatography, while copper and glass do not give this effect. Coating the internal wall of the metal tubing with a thin film of a polar stationary phase essentially eliminates these adsorption losses by blocking the active sites.
