Abstract
Homologous myelin basic protein has been used successfully for treatment of experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (EAE) in NIH and strain 13 guinea pigs. Response of strain 13 guinea pigs to both induction and treatment of EAE was more consistent than response of outbred, NIH guinea pigs. Serum levels of antibasic protein antibody were related to the amount of mycobacteria used for sensitization rather than to disease severity or success of treatment. Keywords
