Reduction in distal blood pressure by sympathetic nerve block in patients with occlusive arterial disease

Abstract
Systolic blood pressure in the big toe decreased from 59 mm Hg to 42 mm Hg after lumbar sympathetic block by xylocaine in 16 patients with occlusive arterial disease. The decrease in pressure correlated with a rise in skin temperature.
