Abstract
Feeding protein-depleted rats, as the source of dietary N, an amino acid mixture patterned after the amino acid composition of casein, resulted in a 4- to 5-fold increase in their antibody-producing capacity, as compared with similar animals maintained on an iso-caloric low protein ration consumed in similar amts. Addition of liver concentrate to the amino acid ration produces no significant effect on hemolysin formation, or on recovery of wt., serum protein, or hemoglobin cone. Keywords
