Abstract
Multiresolution representations of the heart rate variability (HRV) using the wavelet transforms are proposed to characterize the autonomic nervous system regulation of cardiovascular activity during carotid surgery. Results suggest that the power in all frequency bands was low during the surgery and increased after the declamping of the carotid artery. Keywords
